“Watch out for false prophets. They come
to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly
they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit
you will recognize them. Do people pick
grapes from thornbushes, or figs from
thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good
fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good
tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree
cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does
not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown
into the fire.
Thus,
by their fruit you will recognize them.
Matthew 7:15-20
And the Lord’s servant must not be
quarrelsome but must be kind to everyone,
able to teach, not resentful. Opponents
must be gently instructed, in the hope that
God will grant them repentance leading
them to a knowledge of the truth, and that
they will come to their
senses and escape from
the trap of the devil, who
has taken them captive to
do his will.
Since you died with Christ to the elemental spiritual forces of this world,
why, as though you still belonged to the world, do you submit to its rules:
“Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!”? These rules, which have to
do with things that are all destined to perish with use, are based on merely
human commands and teachings.
Such regulations indeed have an appearance of wisdom, with their self-
imposed worship, their false humility and their harsh treatment of the body,
but they lack any value in restraining sensual indulgence.

Titus 1:15-16
To the pure, all things are pure, but to those who are
corrupted and do not believe, nothing is pure. In fact,
both their minds and consciences
are corrupted. They claim to
know God, but by their actions
they deny him. They are
detestable, disobedient and unfit
for doing anything good.
Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord
God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not
eat from any tree in the garden’?”
The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the
garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in
the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”
“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God
knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be
like God, knowing good and evil.”
When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good
for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for
gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave
some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.
Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they realized
they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made coverings
for themselves.

There is a way that appears to be right,
